Two Truths and a Lie

Everyone shares three facts about themselves; the group guesses which one is invented.

How to play

1. Give everyone a minute to think of three statements about themselves — two true, one made up.
2. The first person reads all three out loud, in any order, with a straight face.
3. The group discusses and votes on which one they think is the lie.
4. The speaker reveals the answer and gives the story behind the truth people found hardest to believe.
5. Move around the circle until everyone has had a turn.

Variations

• Two Truths and a Wish — the false one is something you would like to be true. Softer, and often more revealing.
• For big groups, split into circles of six so nobody waits twenty minutes for a turn.
