Build the Tallest Tower

Identical junk, identical time, one winner. Whatever you have lying around works.

Newspaper, cups, straws, tape — same set per team

How to play

1. Give every team the same pile of materials. Paper cups and newspaper both work well.
2. Twelve minutes to build the tallest freestanding structure.
3. It has to stand unsupported for ten seconds to count.
4. Measure them all with the same ruler in front of everyone.

Variations

• Add a constraint halfway through — it must now hold a book, or one team member cannot use their hands.
