Name Toss

Throw a ball across the circle, saying the name of whoever catches it.

6–20 people

Materials:

A soft ball (or mime one)

• 5–15 min
• Energizer
• ESL friendly
• Kids
• Large group (9+)
• Name game

How to play

1. Stand in a circle. Everyone says their name once, out loud.
2. The first person says someone else's name and throws them the ball.
3. That person does the same to someone new. Everyone should get it once before anyone gets it twice.
4. Once the pattern is set, run it again at speed.
5. Add a second ball when the group is confident. Chaos follows.

Variations

• No ball? Mime it. Works surprisingly well and travels light.
• Reverse the order once people know the sequence.
